Caesarean delivery, in addition to be a problem for the woman and for the baby when it comes to an unnecessary intervention, has become, for its high incidence, well above the WHO standards, a public health problem.

The odds of cesarean or delivery are different depending on the Spanish Autonomous Community where the birth takes place and whether it is performed in a private or public hospital.

The Spanish newspaper El Mundo published on February 22, 2013, in its Health section a practical guide to address infant colic.

In this guide, pediatricians Amalia Arce and José María Paricio provide the keys to understanding these cases.


 

 

 

On Sunday 10 February at 21.30 LaSexta, a Spanish television channel, broadcasted the program Salvados "from patient to client", where the consequences of the privatization of the public health in Spain were discussed.

For this report, Jordi Évole interviewed APILAM President Dr. Jose Maria Paricio among others.

The pediatrician Manuel Martín Morales, explains in the Spanish newspaper La Voz de Galicia on 8 January 2013 that breastfeeding should last as much as the mother and baby may want.
